Things to do in San Diego
Known for its amazing weather and miles of white-sand beaches. Some say San Diego is “America’s Finest City”. With museums, historic sites and monuments, galleries, and other cultural events, San Diego is an international, world-class destination.
Two award-winning theatres and live performances round-out the cultural diversity that is found in this city. The summer concert season in San Diego is much longer than other areas due to the warm weather. From Humphrey’s theatre to concerts in the park and the amphitheater located in Chula Vista and others, there is a huge variety of performances.
With over 70 miles of coastline to explore, this region embraces an active healthy lifestyle. Surfing, sailing, skating, biking, hiking, and RVing are all very popular activities in the area. Sportfishing is also world-renowned in this area.
- SeaWorld – a world-renowned animal theme park, oceanarium, outside aquarium, and marine mammal park
- Legoland – just 30-minutes North of San Diego, Legoland is a theme park, miniature park, and aquarium based on the Lego toy brand. This location offers more than 60 rides and fun for the whole family.
- Seaport Village – meandering paths, four miles in length, lead you past many unique shops and restaurants. The village also has an 1895 Looff Carousel with a menagerie of animals, sure to be a child pleaser.
- USS Midway Museum – this museum is located on the huge warship that was in service for the duration of the Cold War plus some. There is lots to see once aboard the ship including restored aircrafts, flight simulators, interactive exhibits, and short films. Spend half a day here at least.
- Balboa Park – a public recreational park with museums, the San Diego Zoo, theatres, restaurants, gardens, and shopping to keep you entertained for days!
- La Jolla Cove – La Jolla Cove is well-visited by scuba divers, snorkelers and swimmers.
- Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve – offering two-thousand acres of coastal wilderness, this reserve definitely merits a visit. The trails range in difficulty and length, with access for all to Florida’s beautiful landscapes.
- Sunset Cliffs Natural Park – a great place to catch the sunset, bring a picnic, take a walk, or just hang out and enjoy nature. In the parking lot, there is a rope to help you get down to ocean level.
